The history of OVIA.
Our independent insurance agency has been around in some form or another since 1876—that’s over 144 years and several generations of experience serving our clients. Oswego Valley Insurance Agencies, LLC (OVIA) was formally created in 1997 when two longstanding local insurance agencies, Dowd & Harrington, Inc. and Streeter & VanSanford, Inc., merged. Since then, we’ve expanded to four locations throughout New York so we can serve clients throughout the Empire State.
What we do at OVIA.
Insurance is often like a journey. At first, it seems overwhelming, and you might not know where to start. Then you come across someone who can guide you down a path that works for you. That’s our role. We take a different approach to insurance by getting to know you and your unique risks so we can sit down with you and figure out a plan for your protection. We’ll walk you through some of the more complex parts of your policy, that way you understand your coverage and can feel at peace knowing what’s important to you most is protected.
